Stress Less Hack: Accept Thoughts on Your Terms

Stressed people have lots of thoughts, and many of them are scary or disturbing. This makes people want to push away a thought, but our minds don’t work this way. The only way to know whether you’ve pushed away a thought is to check in your mind whether the idea is there or not and, in an eye blink, it’s back. It’s easier to accept a problematic thought when you receive it on your terms. For example: You can sing the thought to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, or Three Blind Mice. You can draw or paint the thought or make a poem of it. You can translate the thought into another language or say it in the voice of a cartoon character, such as Donald Duck or Sponge Bob Square Pants. You can see the words backward or mix up the words of the thought. The funnier, the better! Stress Less: A Teen’s Guide to a Calm Chill Life
