The Trichotillomania Learning Center
The TLC (www.trich.org) is a national non-profit organization established to provide information, support, and referral sources regarding the experience and treatment of trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling). TLC’s educational resources are available to people with TTM, their family members and friends, therapeutic professionals, educators, and anyone with an interest in the subject. Unfortunately, the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy does not offer low-fee, sliding scale, or direct payment from insurance companies for treatment. Listed below are a few Bay Area clinics that either accept insurance payment for treatment (indicated with an *) or offer low-fee and sliding scale cognitive behavioral therapy. Several of the clinics offer treatment that is provided by graduate students or medical residents who are supervised by licensed clinicians.
