Jacqueline B. Persons (PSY7275) is director and founding partner of the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, where she offers consultation and training to clinicians, provides treatment for mood and anxiety disorders, and conducts research. Her research focuses on clinicians' adoption of evidence-based practices, and on the process and outcome of cognitive-behavior therapy. Dr. Persons is also Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at UC-Berkeley. Dr. Persons received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1979 from the University of Pennsylvania. She has published more than 70 articles and chapters, three books, and (with her colleagues Joan Davidson and Michael Tompkins) a DVD series to train clinicians in the basic skills of cognitive-behavior therapy for depression. Dr. Persons is past president of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology (Section 3, Division 12, APA). She received the Outstanding Clinician award from the ABCT in 2008.
