Dr. Persons is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work with her and her colleagues at the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy. This is an opportunity to develop and practice skills of integrating research and clinical practice in a well-regarded Center for Cognitive Therapy in the San Francisco bay area.The fellow will work with Dr. Persons on research on the process and outcome of cognitive-behavior therapy and related topics. The fellow will collaborate with Dr. Persons and others on ongoing projects and will initiate his/her own projects. The projects that can be supported in this setting involve integration of research and practice, and are typically based on data collected in clinical practice. The fellow will receive supervised experience in providing cognitive-behavior therapy to adult outpatients and, as Dr. Persons's registered Psychological Assistant, accumulate hours toward licensure in California. The fellow will divide his/her time approximately equally between research and clinical practice, and will spend a maximum of 15 hours weekly seeing patients.Dr. Persons will ask the fellow to make a two-year commitment. The start date is flexible. Applications are being accepted now and will continue to be accepted them until a candidate is hired.The fellow’s salary will be based on fees received from patients that s/he treats under my supervision and is expected to total approximately $50,000 annually. We will provide malpractice and workers compensation insurance but not medical insurance. The fellow must be eligible to work in the U.S.The successful candidate must have completed the work for a doctorate degree (including the dissertation) in clinical psychology, have good research skills, have good clinical skills in cognitive-behavior therapy for mood and anxiety disorders for adults, and be committed to a career that integrates research and practice.Send a CV, statement of career interests, and one or two sample publications to Dr. Persons via e-mail at

Description
Compulsive hoarding and cluttering is the acquisition of, and failure to discard, possessions which appear to be useless or of limited value. Compulsive hoarding and cluttering can lead to safety and health hazards, including isolation and homelessness.
This training is a program of the Mental Health Association of San Francisco (MHA-SF) Institute on Compulsive Hoarding and Cluttering (ICHC), a center for information, training, education, policy and dissemination of research on compulsive hoarding and cluttering.
